Hi, I’m Louise, I am the company founder, director, and wellbeing consultant. I am passionate about mental health and emotional wellbeing, and believe that to thrive, enjoy and succeed in our precious lives, how emotionally and mentally well we feel is paramount to the lives we each live.

For over 25 years,  I have worked with children, families, and adults in support of their emotional wellbeing and mental health. Engaging in ongoing CPD throughout my career has allowed me to gain excellent qualifications, skills, knowledge, and experience of working holistically and therapeutically with both children and adults in the support and development of mental health and wellbeing.

My journey with children and families began in 1998, working within the private sector, I continued to develop my skills, qualifications and experiences moving on to Sure Start and Children’s Centres as a Family Support Practitioner. Here I supported vulnerable families and their children providing therapeutic interventions and delivering evidenced base programmes as part of multi-disciplinary team to best support the emotional wellbeing, parenting and mental health of the children and families on my case load.

My career progressed further in becoming a lecturer at Blackburn College in Childhood Studies, enthusiastically teaching students in my field of expertise.  The passion and values I strongly hold in being the best practitioner I can possibly be, was to teach and help the students to become positive role models and experts when working with children themselves. I provided enriched teaching and learning experiences in attachment theories, children’s mental health, child development and wellbeing to enable them a fulfilling  career in being the best role models possible for our children of today.

Before I came self-employed, I worked as an Infant Mental Health Practitioner within Children’s Psychological Services for the NHS. This involved working therapeutically with parents and children delivering evidenced based interventions to strengthen, assess and support the relationships, mental health, attachment and bonding within families. I provided interventions to many children and families, requiring support for their mental health, wellbeing, perinatal mental health, ACE’s, parent child relationships, child development support as well as delivering evidenced based programmes and workshops in the community settings for parents and carers to access.

Continuous professional development has been part of my self-growth over my career, having completed various courses and gaining invaluable skills in many areas.  Some of these are holding qualification as a Master NLP Practitioner which is practiced daily, completing my PGCE, having the skills to observe parent child relationships, counselling skills, CBT techniques, motivational interviewing skills, safeguarding children and adults and facilitating evidenced based community groups. I have been a parenting group leader for many years trained in several programmes, including Incredible Years and Family Links, and have also trained in “Watch Wait and Wonder” which is a child led psychotherapeutic approach used in supporting parent child relationships.

Kelly Cotton

Children’s Wellbeing Practitioner

BA (Hons) Education & Learning
Paediatric First Aid Trained (British Red Cross)
NLP Foundation Practitioner

Hello, I’m Kelly, I have over 20 years’ experience working with children from ages 0 to 11 years old. I began my career in the private sector which I thoroughly enjoyed; this inspired me to become self-employed as a childminder where I was able to engage and support the wider family. I enjoyed providing for the holistic developments of the children through planning, implementing, and engaging in the EYFS curriculum, as well as providing additional experiences to expand their knowledge and understanding of the world, to support the development of their confidence, self-esteem, and communication skills.

I continued my career into the education sector as a Teaching Assistant where I became part of a multi-disciplinary team in supporting children’s learning, mental health, and wellbeing in KS1 and KS2.  During my time in  primary education, I had the privilege of working closely with families to best support their children’s emotional and mental health needs. I have assisted in the delivery of the ELSA programme (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) interventions, of which I am enthusiastic about, this experience has added to my therapeutic skills when working with children.  My extensive career in working with children has enabled me to gain a wealth of knowledge into the contributing factors for developing children’s mental health and emotional wellbeing, and hold a strong belief that when children have the correct nurturing support, they have the opportunity to fulfil  a more positive future.

NLP Foundation Practitioner

Hello, I’m Bethan. I have over 10 years’ experience working with children from the ages 0-11 years old. I began my career working in nurseries with toddlers and pre-school children, working alongside the EYFS curriculum , helping children to learn the basic skills required to set a good foundation to thrive. Being part of the children’s journeys during their early year to life was fulfilling, in preparing them for the transition to school.

I developed my career moving into primary schools, working 1:1 with children of special educational needs and also as a HLTA delivering lessons across KS1 and KS2 curriculum. I am passionate about developing my professional skills , and recently successfully qualified as an ELSA (Emotional Literacy Support Assistant) practitioner. As an ELSA practitioner I planned for and delivered sessions for children that required support with their mental health and wellbeing, including sessions for friendships, anger, regulating and recognising emotions, trauma and bereavement.

CPD is important to me as a professional, and throughout my career I have developed and improved my skillset and knowledge in the field of working with children. I studied at Liverpool Hope University graduating with a BA(hons) in Education and Special Educational Needs. I have also completed training
for children’s bereavement ,behaviour management , and young person’s mental health, and have practiced in schools as a HLTA.

I love to spend time with my family, walk the dogs, go out for tea and decorate my house. I enjoy reading, baking, sewing and anything creative.
